Debutante Emma is Ready to Make Your Acquaintance

(UPDATE 12/15/20: In a foster-to-adopt placement which she continues her medical care)

Emma is ready to meet her match, and is just as beautiful as her Jane Austen version!

Meet Emma, a 65 lb 3-5 year old dog, who is officially ready to start her adoption process. Located in Manhattan, NYC. Apply here.

It’s evident from Emma’s ever-smiling face that she doesn’t let her skin irritations hold her back! Who better to hear about her from than her own foster family.

Here’s what Emma’s foster family has to say about her:

"She’s a sweet, social, and loving girl. Emma sports a beautiful ginger coat and the cutest face (not that we’re biased or anything). She’s a huge fan of food, naps, belly rubs, toys, and making friends - dog or human."

We pulled Emma from the Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC) through the New Hope Partner program after we met her on a recent episode of Friday Night Foster Club.

Emma had arrived into foster care with skin irritation and a skin infection, so she needed a new diet and medication to alleviate the itch and cure her discomfort. She’s feeling much better now! At her new home, she will need to continue a specific diet of prescription dog food, medicated baths, and oral medication. All of this will help her remain comfortable and continue to improve - and possibly can wean off of certain requirements over time.

Emma hasn’t lived with dogs or young kids yet, but enjoys befriending them all when meeting them in public. Says foster mom Tess, “We’re confident she’ll do great in any kind of home! Emma is also house trained, crate trained, and extremely well behaved.”

Note: Videos and photos of Emma were taken in October and November, so her skin and fur patches have since improved.

If you still haven’t fallen in love with this amazing angel yet, here are some final words from her very own foster parents:

"Emma is a sweet and loving dog who goes through life with a happy smile and affectionate attitude. Her adorable asymmetric ears express her so wonderfully. We’ve loved having Emma in our house and know you will too!"

If you’re looking for a great companion during the cozy winter months - and every day beyond - Emma is just the one you’ve been waiting for!

Adoption fee: $250. Apply here.
