“Friday Night Foster Club” Live Event Celebrates 22 Episodes

Our live “Friday Night Foster Club” event celebrates 22 completed episodes this week, about to shoot the 23rd edition this Friday! We’ll take a look back on our eight months of amazing stories.

These difficult times have called for creative adjustments within the animal welfare community, and when live adoption events were cancelled due to the pandemic, Foster Dogs didn’t stop and was ready to rise to the challenge.

Launched in March 2020, Foster Dogs started an Instagram Live event called Friday Night Foster Club to tackle the unique challenge of helping dogs in need without the benefit of in-person adoption events and meet and greets. Although the world is changing, the fact that these dogs still need a home isn’t. In fact, we think we all need a friend now more than ever!

“I stumbled upon Foster Dogs at the beginning of my foster journey in April. They have provided me with an abundance of advice, information & have even helped promote my foster dogs! I’ve had the pleasure of being on several ‘Friday Night Foster Clubs’ on their Instagram which in turn generated a ton of interest and exposure for my foster dogs. Participating in Friday Night Foster Club admittedly gave me the jitters but all of the hosts have been funny, engaging & entertaining making it a breeze. I look forward to taking part in more events with Foster Dogs in the future as I continue my foster journey.’ - Monika S., NJ

The Friday Night Foster Club was born out of a desire to continue serving our rescue partners by providing virtual adoption events that would allow homeless dogs national exposure while also raising money and awareness for nonprofits that are near and dear to our hearts! Even in these uncertain times, many amazing dogs have been able to find their forever home!

  • 22 episodes

  • 45 rescue groups

  • 115 foster homes

  • 139 dogs

  • 16 states

  • $3,355.00 raised for charities

Our volunteer FNFC Coordinator Miriam Valero says, “Once the news hit that we could longer have in-person events, I was devastated. I always look forward to volunteering at these events as part of my outlet to decompress from work. When the opportunity for a virtual event was presented, I jumped in with both feet! I knew this was exactly what I needed as a positive fun distraction during COVID.”

Valero continues, “Meeting fosters from all across the country, getting to know all these new people, dogs and rescues has brought so much joy to me and all of our followers. FNFC became a staple during the dark months of COVID - and continues to do so now.”

At Friday Night Foster Club, engaging hosts interview foster dogs in their homes while guests ask questions, meet the dogs, sip some wine, get comfy on the couch, and feel great watching happy dogs in their foster homes.

We hope you become a part of our next success story!

ELEANOR (ig account: @arielthebrindle)

Have you ever seen a happier face! This cheerful dog’s name is Eleanor a.k.a Queen of Hippos. She was adopted soon after she was featured on Friday Night Foster Club’s Episode 6!

The host of her episode, Abby of @arielthebrindle, interviewed Eleanor’s foster @remdawgs (for @muddypawsrescuenyc) and fell in love with this beautiful face right then and there. Talk about love at first sight! She adopted Eleanor, who is living her best life in her new home with her wonderful siblings Ariel, Rose, & Gus.

Now that’s what we call a happy ending!

BUG

This little sweetheart’s name is Bug. After Jim ( (Brooklynite @jimjbrennan) saw senior gal Bug on the Friday Night Foster Club episode 7, he knew right away that she was the perfect fit for his life! Although Bug has had a rough life, she hasn’t lost her trust and faith one bit.

Foster Dogs pulled then-sad-and-depressed senior Bug from the NYC ACC shelter with a myriad of health issues: poor vision and hearing, thyroid concerns, inguinal hernia, dental disease, and more. But we got her seen by wonderful vets, and she got into much better shape and has already lost all her extra weight!

Jim has given this gal a better life - and brought home a little best bud!

She’s now in a new and beautiful chapter of her life with her amazing family. She has lost weight and is doing great in her new home! Her favorite things are breakfast and dinner (we have to agree!) She also loves sitting on the couch, being held, spending time with her family, and of course sleeping on a couch pillow away from her dog bed!
