3/1/13 UPDATE: Lucy has received so many offers for a foster home - what a lucky girl! Looking for a FOSTER-TO-ADOPT home.2/27/13 Bio: Urgent foster needed for young Pit/Weimaraner mix Lucy. 1 yr old, medium size. Fine with other animals.
From her rescuers:
Yesterday, we rescued this young pittie from Far Rockaway. She ran into a building that was under construction due to Hurricane Sandy and was throwing up blood.
We rushed her to vet where she is still located. I just spoke to the vet and they think that she has a bad case of bronchial pneumonia that was left untreated and her coughing caused a pulminary hemmorage causing her to cough up blood.
The vet is keeping her overnight to confirm this and rule out heartworm and anything else. She kept her breakfast down today and has also kept the water she drank down. We are hopeful Lucy will be ok and ready to leave soon.
She is one of the gentlest and sweetest dogs I have ever met. The vet's office staff and doctors concur and can't say enough about her. She has had no reaction to cats or dogs. Just wants love. Attached are some pics of Lucy.
Located in Far Rockaway, NY. Care of BSL Rescue.
Anyone with any interest in fostering her when she gets out of the vets office can contact Sloane Quealy-Miner at 917-648-9808, quealy_sloane@yahoo.com and please CC FosterDogsNYC in your inquiry email: info [at] fosterdogsnyc.com
